Photographer, Damodar Balagi, calls his photographic composition "Eternal peace".
|
Damodar Balagi's image has a soft mood that is reminiscent of an oil painting.

Gayle Nastasi calls this image "Cat Nap 1."
|
Gayle Nastasi advised that her snoozing lion picture (one of two she submitted) was taken many years ago, approximately 1976.
"Despite dark storage, the slides seem to have faded," she writes. "They were taken with a 35mm Fujica SLR at a safari theme park in New Jersey called Jungle Habitat, which is no longer in existence."
|
Mike Bauldry, who shoots special effects photos using black light and time exposures, also took these dramatic seaside wedding photos.
The image on the left was photographed using flash, while the silhouette on the right was taken using ambient light only. Mike's short but informative note about both pictures simply states: "both 100 speed f 5.6 at 90."
Mike also submitted a wedding photography tip, which you can see by clicking here.

Two moody seaside wedding pictures of the same couple - one taken with subtle flash and the other a silhouette, both benefiting from the clouded, sunset background. Photographer Mike Bauldry.

The photographer who shot this imposing pachyderm visiting her camp in Zambia calls herself "Prune". She named this picture "May I take some of your water?"
We can't imagine anyone thinking to refuse an elephant's request for water. But, we are delighted that Prune had the presence of mind to capture the picture.
She took it while she was working for Wildlife in the "middle" of the Kafue National Park. "First time you see an ellie so close," she writes, "it's a bit stressful, but as long as you respect (well you have to) the distance, it's OK. I must admit that to live around with free and wild animals is absolutely fabulous."

Crystal Delano, a student at Barstow High School, used an Olympus Camedia C-700 Ultra Zoom camera and a good sense of timing and design for this colorful and interesting picture.
Her Photo 2 teacher, Michael Nethercott, originally suggested that she send it to us for a professional opinion. We have to feel that, as a photography teacher, he already knew that Crystal had a winner. We wrote back and said, "Your photograph is delightful. You did a wonderful job. It's a great composition, and you should be congratulated."
And so she should. If all of Crystal's pictures are of this quality, she will have a good future in photography.
