I have been working with my brother in his capacity as a Bee Wrangler. He removes bees from homes, businesses, trees, and other structures. We went to get one of the hives that he had relocated to a bee box that had been set up specially as a demo box to be set up in a local agricultural center. I has side plexiglass panels so people can see the bees at work.
One the tools of the trade is a smoker. It is used to confuse the phermone communications of the bees. I got this shot when he placed it on one of the nearby bee boxes.
This is not an advertisement, but if you would like to see more of what bee keepers do and more specifically a bee wrangler you can see it at The Bartlett Bee Whisperer

An interesting shot Steve, it looks a bit like the old lith film, but I'm guessing it's photoshop?

It was initially a bad exposure that I did Photoshop heavily. Just to experiment.

I grew up around bees, my grandfather had a number of hives for many years. Fresh honeycombe and crusty bread.... Mmmmm, it was worth the odd sting.
