This to me is all about texture and lines. For my personal taste it lacks contrast in the mid-tone to highlight areas. If so wished, this could be amended by adjusting the middle slider in the levels and a touch of burning in. I can show you what I mean if that's OK...

I like the perked up version. I really like b/w but don't really know what makes a good one. I will have to try it
