We had a wedding on Friday, nice people, small church (murder to park) anyway after the service we're shooting the group shots outside, I'd just lent my jacket to an old lady who was shivering with the cold (it was about 3c) and I noticed another photographer with a very long lens shooting pics.
I hadn't noticed him before but I'd been down the front of the church doing the service and ring exchange ect so he may have arrived after I set up. I asked John the other photographer and Julie the assistant who he was and they hadn't seen him before either. John went and challenged his and he said he was just passing and it was public property. I pointed out a church isn't public property it's private property open to the public at certain times, big difference legally.
The guy left a bit sharpish at this point.
At the reception the groom came over to our table and showed us a business card they guy had been giving out to the children he'd photographed at the church.
To say he wasn't happy was putting it mildly. I suggested reporting it to the police (in case) but the groom said he'd take care of the guy, and he wouldn't be doing it again.
