Each photographer has his or her own style of taking pics. After lots of years of shooting, you usually can narrow the various techniques and approaches in to different style categories. I have narrowed it down to different typical formats of wedding photography that they cover. They are and fully comfortable shooting each and permit the couple to select which style best represents their persona and personal flair!

1. Wedding Photojournalism

A wedding photojournalistic style of photography involves the photographer not being involved as much as normal. The story is told though the photographs and emphasis is taken off of the typical posed and planned pics. With this style of wedding photography, they tend to stand on the sidelines and shoot from the background, becoming as unobtrusive as feasible. However, the pics they capture put the viewer right in the mix of what is going on. They capture natural moments that happen in point of fact without the typical setting up and posing a picture. With this style of photography, they think about ourselves to be "photographic storytellers," guiding the viewer through the "story" of your wedding day. This is our choice format of wedding photography. They truly enjoy finding those positive moments of significance that often pass by quickly and capturing them within our lens.

2. Traditional Wedding Photography

Unlike the marriage photojournalistic style, this style of photography has much involvement from the photographer. Lots of of the portraits are set up and posed, incorporating a more traditional approach to wedding pics. The marriage photographer acts as a director of sorts, guiding the marriage party and guests in to formations and poses for pics. Although the main style of shooting for our studio is the Wedding Photojournalistic style, they do have experience in directing and leading wedding parties in to the posed group and individual formal pics.

3. Fashion Wedding Photography

This style of wedding photography rings true with its name - it is focused on the element of fashion. Brides who request fashion wedding pics to be taken often book studio time outside of a traditional wedding day shoot. This allows the photographers to plan out a session incorporating more lighting and artistic techniques. Doing a fashion wedding shoot in studio also allows the bride more freedom in moving in to typical fashion poses (such as the hands on the hips, hunched back pose) paired with a more serious and "fashion-like" facial expression. Both brides and grooms request this style of wedding photography to add something different and dramatic to their wedding picture album.

The above are really great tips. I also want to share some, the one of the most important things to keep in mind is how the wedding photographer you selected, approaches wedding photography. Is he just doing his job by capturing pictures or creating some art? Is he passionate about taking pictures in wedding and to make them more truthful and creative? The good and professional wedding photographers are literally such service providers that can take your pictures with their creative and imaginative ways, so you can really get feel your photo album as a keepsake.

For me, I would say my style is fairly traditional in a reportage way with the images being bright, bold and colorful. I don't like to mess about too much with over-Photoshopping or filtering as I like to try and enhance the day itself not add to it.
I also try and capture the day as naturally as possible and work on the principle that if they wanted "cardboard cut-out" style portrait images all the way, they wouldn't have booked me after seeing my portfolio. I do take the bulk standard group shots but try and keep them to a minimum.
