Had a photo workshop yesterday and I tried raw for the first time. What do you think. Too blue?? I always tend to push it.

Nice photo, Chance. Hard to tell if there is too much blue without knowing what the building looks like in person. But, your greens look ok. (I once took a picture of my son in a blue wading pool, you could tell there was too much blue because he was blue, too.) Did you move the temperature, tint and other sliders around?

Nice to be the ARTIST, huh?

It seems to me that the point of a lot of HDR is to push it. Kevin does some very nice work that would never be called "realistic."

The building is blue to begin with and very much like this in person. Yes I moved all kinds of sliders around. Didn't really know what I was doing since it was my first time. This wasn't HDR although I want to do that too. I think I like the 'unrealistic' simplistic feel of alot of HDR's.
Thanks for commenting, men!!

I really like the reflection of the clouds on the building. Looks very nice on my monitor, Chance!

I wish I had time to do RAW processing. I love the reflection of the clouds on the building. Beautiful color!
If it was my photo I would crop out about half of the actual sky/clouds so that the building/reflections would be more of a focal point. But that's just me.

Chance, I thought Jeannette's comment was just about right. I went a bit farther on the attached. I've minimized the sky to further accentuate the building and reflection. If you like I'll take down this crop. It is already eliminated from my hard drive.

It's your photo so you have final say. But remember the rule of thirds?

Chance,It's OK to be indecisive. That's what we're here for. Seriously, though, someone once told me that if you can't tell which of 2 or several similar picture you like you probably haven't yet taken the right one yet.

Regarding this photo, what Jeannette and I are saying is that you shouldn't ask your viewer to decide which part of the picture he/she should be looking at. You should be leading him/her to it. When I first looked at your photo my eye was immediately drawn to the magnificent bright sky and then deep blue you were questioning, but not the reflections which I believe is why you took that picture.

Actually Joel I didn't take it because of the reflections but the architecture of the building and the way it curved around. Didn't really notice how much of a refection there was until it was on my comp. In fact when I was downloading it in class everyone else commented on it so much that thats why I even processed this particular one. I do agree with your point however.
