Memory card fail

Had a memory card fail on Saturdays wedding, card worked fine all through the wedding, once it got to the computer it failed totally, neither computer or camera would see it.
Now luckly we didn't actually loose any images, but it makes you wonder what could happen if you had a single card camera and a total fail at something like a wedding.
The problem is theres no way of actually testing the cards prior to shooting as they can totally fail at any time.
Also the number of cards going bad seems to be on the increase (as far as I can tell)

Wayne - It does get troublesome. Quality goes down as demand goes up! There are times recovery software helps. Best to you!
