Hey guys!
Curious - what are your thoughts for the best background/placement material for commercial product shooting (small items like purses, shoes, lipstick, etc.)? I've used white construction paper and white seamless roll paper but have heard that some other white materials work well.
Any thoughts?

Some use white vinal now, it has the advantage of being a bit tougher than paper and you can "wash" it or at least wipe it with a wet cloth.

Anything that is not glossy, the duller the better as it avoids glare...

White vinyl - hmmm.... Is that kinda like polyeurathane (sp) or something like that?
Non-glossy.... Got it! I think i've got it covered - I will see what I can find!
Thanks!

You could get a shoot box from eBay... surrounded on all sides by white opaque plastic. Place your object inside. Easy to light either outside or with lights indoors.

I might just try that one - the shoot box? Kinda like a light tent?

Before you go making your own background look around at what's on sale at Amazon, ebay, etc. Depending on your needs you may be able to buyit as cheaply or cheaper than the DIY version and avoid the hassle.
