I came across another way of sharpening in photoshop the other day and thought I'd pass it on.

You make a duplicate layer, sharpen that with say unsharp mask (more than normal)next make another duplicate layer of the original layer, now go to filter stylize find edges desaturate this the select all and copy, now delete the find edges layer and past the copy into the layer mask of the sharpened layer, now invert the mask tweek levels if needed and ajust layer opacity to suit.

What it does is essentially sharpens the edges, does it work, well yes but I'm not convinced it's any better that all the other ways of sharpening like high pass or my own favorite PK sharpener. Although to be honest I don't use that much these days as photoshops sharpening has got better I don't really need it.

Hey! This sounds super helpful, the only problem is I used a different software Do you happen to know any tips for this photo editing software it's a bit different than photoshop but I think it's easier to use. Anyways, I'm looking to sharpen my image too. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm afraid I've never used it Sammy, so can't really help much. If it supports layers, see if theres a high pass option (possibly in filters)
The software linked is close in price to photoshop elements, probably a better bet for the money, theres also a ton of tutorials around for photoshop.

Photoshop is considered the industry standard, elements is a 'slimed' down version of the full photoshop, that said theres not much elements can't do.
