I'm looking to purchase either the Nikon D1 or the D1x? Will the D1 give me nice 12x18 prints? This is biggest concern since I'm pretty fussy on having a print sharp.Although price is somewhat of an issue, I don't mind paying the extra for better quality. If there's anyone who had experience with both these cameras, I would certainly appreciate some input.

Thanks for your help. I checked out the site, and from there it was easy to make up my mind. Looks like I'm going to bye a D1X. Thanks again.

I would also reccomend checking out the Dimage 7. Similar results, 5+MP, full feature, 7x optical zoom and much less $$. No one camera is for everyone, but it is worth a look. Check out http://www.cnet.com/electronics/0-6613935-1304-6235167.html for reviews.

We use the D1x for all of our portraiture at Andrews Air Force Base, MD, printing the files to Kodak 8650's, 8670's and the Fuji 3000. We consistantly get quality 8x10's.

You probably already purchased a camera but in case you haven't,have you heard about the new Nikon D100? It's light and supposed to be really awesome. I'm waiting on it myself.
