A pantomime (for those outside the UK) is a sort of fantsy play for children, things like sleeping beauty, or cinderalla, or in this case beauty and the beast.
The show nearly always includes a pantomime dame (a bloke in womans costume), and many couriously have a woman as the leading man. This one had a man as leading man, although there is a dame.

Sadly I never got to see it when the crowd were in, we had to shoot the dress rehearsal which was a shambles really as they had programed the lighting before hand so by slowing it down for pics the lighting was out of sync.
