Here where I live the wedding venue trend at the moment is the black hole of Calcutta look, really gloomy and dark. One place has actually boarded up the windows for heavens sake.
To make life harder it seems popular to paint the inside in bright orange and put mirrors behind the top table, so no bounce flash off the walls unless you like the Umpa-lumpa look.
What is the trend in your area?? I'm Wales based in the UK.

I'll be honest. It has been a while since I photographed a full blown wedding. The last wedding I photographed was so low key I could have given everyone a 35mm and collected them after.

Thanks for the reply Steve.
I've got a tricky one this weekend, the church is small and dark, and has gravestones all around it, so not many pics outside there. And the hotel/reception is a nightmare as well, the staff are grim, the rooms are dark and gloomy, and the guests are crammed in like sardines. The grounds consist of a big lawn with building all around, so it's blur the backgound and hope for the best.
Maybe it's time to quit....

This weeks one looks fun, it seems the rings are being delivered by owl, seriously! They are Harry Potter fans.
