Pygmy monkey

Copyright 2002 by Renzo Segato.

The pygmy monkey (or more accurately, the pygmy marmoset) is the smallest monkey in the world, weighing in at a mere 125 grams, barely more than four ounces. Imagine an adult monkey so small (five-inches tall) that you could hold it in the palm of your hand! The pygmy marmoset is very difficult to find and photograph in the wild. Renzo captured this little fellow on film in Ecuador, in the basin of the River Napo.
