Isla Partida
Isla Partida, twenty miles from La Paz, seems to be floating on the ocean's surface. Less than a half mile off the eastern shore, the water reaches a depth of 50 fathoms (300 feet, or just over 27 meters).
Isla Partida and Isla Espiritu Santo sit side by side, separated by a narrow channel that visitors can wade across at low tide. The islands are comprised mainly of layers of black lava and pink volcanic ash.
