What should I be looking for when I purchase a new monitor for my computer. I am looking at the flatscreens but there are so many options. There is also a huge difference in price so I want to make the right choice the first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shannon Davis

Hi everyone,

This thread seems to have died some years back but I'm looking for help with buying a new monitor.

I see that there are specialist (very expensive) photography monitors on the market that claim to have a wide Adobe RGB gamut eg the Eizo range see Eizo.com. Are there other, better priced, ones that people are using with good colour? I'm looking for a 22" LCD just for still photos.

I'd appreciate your help and suggestions.

Trevor

I have found that Cnet gives pretty good reviews of what's out there and the most bank for the buck.

Thanks Victor.

There's wide choice there. I also found this website with a selection method http://mansurovs.com/best-monitor-for-photography. The cheapest and best is the Viewsonic VP2365WB 23" at £196.

Hi Trevor....
I'm now using a HP S2331a and am very happy with it about £150.41 at Amazon... Excellent contrast and brightness and very easy to calibrate with my old Spider Pro...

Hi Kenny,

Always good to have a hands-on comment from a pro.

Another good comparison site is Text
