Advice needed on storage for video/photo files. I have several external drives of digital videos and photos, the drives are filling up and will soon become full. I want to pass on family videos and photos to children/grandchildren, the problem with DVD's are size sometimes too small. My thought was to use thumb/flash/jump drives maybe 6-8-10 GB's.

What's the best media for digital storage and transfer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You could also look at blueray disks, the writers have come down a lot in price, the disks will hold up to around 50gb (dual layer).

Personally I'd stick with the drives, they are really cheap at the moment.

Whatever method you use I'd advise at least 2 copies with 1 copy kept off-site, a friends house perhaps, this provides extra safety in the event of flood/fire whatever.
