too much to the right? Not enough to the left? Cropped too tight? Your suggestions are most appreciated!

I know I cut off his elbow, but I like the mood of the image.

Love the second one Vee. The mood is just right. The first would have prob benefited from fill flash or a reflector to brighten up his face. Although I really like his expression

Thanks, Chance...you're right about the face. Hard to think about using the flash sometimes when there is so much action going on around you all the time (or at least for me it is...). I appreciate your feedback!

Vee - IMG_6574web definitely could have used a little fill flash. This is just a personal thing but, since so much of his face/head is already hidden by the batting helmet, I probably would have included his chin.
IMG_6169sepiaweb - I like this and don't mind not seeing his elbow. It's a little dark for my preference but it could be my monitor.
If you think there's a lot of action now, just wait until he's in high school. And it gets even faster in college and the pros. At least you have time to learn to keep up with action. My problem shooting baseball/softball is you can go a long time where the only action involves the pitcher and batter. I tend to get bored and then I miss action when it does happen. I think I work harder shooting baseball/softball than I work when shooting something like ice hockey or lacrosse because I really have to force myself to concentrate on the game, even when there's nothing happening.

Thanks for your feedback Alice - I really appreciate it. I think it's my monitor. It doesn't look as dark at home as it does on my work monitor. Appreciate your help!
Understand about the "no action" and then "BOOM"! They are starting football this fall. Hopefully I'll get to learn another sport... I'll just keep watching and practicing!

Great shots! The first one is like eye to eye contact and I like that. The second one has great mood.

Thanks, Patty. This was my first season with this type of photography, and I sure had a blast trying to capture the little guys...
