I'm redesigning my business card and need to know if I need a model release to use photos on the business card. These are photos I took while working for the local free sports newspaper. Yes, I own the copyright - not the newspaper - but I don't know if I need a model release for advertising my business.
Anyone have any ideas? BTW - this is in the United States.

You can never be too careful... if it was a public setting and the public was aware that there was a photographer... Not sure. If you know the indiviuals you need to try. That is just my thought.

I would say check with a lawer. That is a big reason we went to using a ring and flower shot for ours.
