My dog brought this guy to my attention. I've never seen a meaner looking tortoise and to have him shade bathing on my patio was something else. I refused to get within 5 feet of him. I reallt don't want to know how fast he can swipe with those claws.

If I'm not mistaken, it's some variety of snapping turtle. Yes, it could probably remove some body parts, but not with its claws.
